Wordful Wednesday: Lazy Sunday at the Bontanical Gardens

Wednesday, August 31, 2011

On Sunday we took Marlie to the Dallas Arboretum early in the morning to beat the heat (barely). Here's what we saw:
A life-size teepee at the pioneer adventure display.

Koi fish at the Japenese gardens.

We ended our visit by splashing in the frog fountain.

Love the frog pond! I wish we had more things like this around. It's educational and fun. I love that the two of you expose her to all these neat museums and such, not such kiddie places.

I love Japanese gardens! Thanks for clarifying on the waffles and chicken. My husband had actually heard of it, a place called Roscoe's or something... Anyway, I'm still having trouble wrapping my head around it. He says it's no different than eating bacon and waffles, but with bacon, it's fine if syrup gets on it, but syrup on fried chicken???? Anyway, now the whole family is obsessed with finding a place that serves this combination, properly. We may have to travel to do it, but do it we will, dag nabbit! If for no other reason than I feel completely out of it, for never having heard of it. :-)
