Wordful Wednesday: A Slice of Monterey

Wednesday, October 10, 2012

We spent two days last week in Monterey while the daddy/hubby worked. It's a lovely beach town on the coast of California, only a 2.5 hour drive from Oakland. Here are some photos from our trip:
We hit up Dennis the Menace Park where she walked across the swaying bridge...
...and slid down this awesome rollers slide.
cheered on the cruise ship out  in the bay
splashed in the tidal pool
harassed the statue that looks like the Gorton's fisherman

Dennis the Menace Park looks like it hasn't changed one bit since we left the area 10 years ago! We lived in Gilroy, which is about one hour away from Monterey. We loved the aquarium there and had a membership, so we went to Monterey a lot.

Cali life is treating you guys very well! I'm over here bundled up in a sweatshirt shivering wishing I was there. LOL!

That looks absolutely lovely! I'm jealous, since things are pretty chilly here now!

That slide looks super fun and cool! Although DF is sitting beside me and I showed him and he though it was a death trap. LOL

It looks like a good time indeed! I haven't seen a slide like that before. It looks fun! The view where the children are looking at the cruise ships is beautiful! I love visiting beach towns! Maybe I will get to visit California one of these days!
