Wordful Wednesday: Baby Bump Debut Photo

Wednesday, October 19, 2011

I've been feeling some mommy guilt about chocolate chip not getting the same amount of attention that Marlie got on my blog. Let's not even get into what I am going to do about the name of this blog. Anyway. Here is the first picture of chocolate chip as as a baby bump. I took this after I got home from my 14/15 week check up. Notice my weird angle. That's because I am hiding the dent. Yep. I have a very "innie" belly button that creates a cavern in my otherwise round bump. It will eventually pop out, but meanwhile it looks off. Everything is going swimmingly. Heartbeat is strong (150s) and my blood pressure is excellent. I have to decide on genetic testing and a flu shot by my next visit. I also get a sonogram and have to decide if we want to learn the sex of the baby. Decisions! Decisions! I think we've pretty much decided to wait until the baby is born to find out if we have a daughter or son. If curiosity gets the bets of me, we will keep everyone else in the dark until chocolate chip arrives.

It's really weird, but for some reason I have always just assumed Chocolate Chip was going to be a boy. I never even thought about the fact that you wouldn't know yet! We kind of went off and on about learning the sex of our kids. We did with the first, but after that, I kind of felt like I knew everything about childbirth, so let's leave something for as a surprise. DH was adamant about finding out Dora's gender, I forget why... I think because we were having a hard enough time picking out a name for one gender, w/o having to do it for two (since the other four were aged 9+, we felt that they should have a say in her name - big mistake, let me tell you, 6 people trying to agree on one name is a nightmare, especially when you have already set certain naming precedents, such as we realized that all 6 of us had two syllable first, middle, and last names - yet gave Dora's a 3 syllable name anyway....)

And I've been dying to know what will happen to your blog name. Marlie and Me is such a great name! Hopefully you can come up with another just as good name. I guess if CC is a boy, it can be Marlie and He (I'm so not serious about that BTW)...

Awwww LOVE your bump! It *almost* makes me want one ;-) I echo Maureen about the title of your blog. Maybe you can run a renaming contest or something!

Awwww Look at the baby bump! Not that I have a vote or anything, but wait til the baby's born to find out. Nothing like a surprise. LOL

first of all when I saw the little thumbnail on Facebook a second ago I went 'Oh My God!' and C jumped up like something was wrong. The bump is SO cute!! I love it! And I must be having twins cause you are tiny ; )

You are stronger willed than I am that's for sure. I can't handle the suspense...I need to know what this little creature is so we can give him/her a name already! That helped me tremendously in labor being able to speak to C and call her name and connect to her to help get her out.

Marlie & Me and Chocolate Chip makes three? Haha! Can't wait to see what you're gonna do!!

I posted a comment about a week or so ago when I found out you were pregnant again, but now I don't see it. :0( ANYway, I am SO thrilled for you and your family!! I, for one, think Little Miss Marlie is going to have a beautiful little sister and they are going to look very much alike!

Either way, you can give all your future offspring a name that starts with an M and rename your blog, "My beautiful M&Ms and Me! Then you won't have to change it ever again! :0)

Love and miss you,

Teresa <><

Congratulations! Isn't 150s supposed to mean boy? I'm Team Boy all the way.

I'm with you on kind of wanting to wait to find out the gender. As impatient as I tend to be, I kind of want to be surprised in the delivery room. But there is the practical thing of finding out the sex in advance so you don't have CC wearing pink onesies if it is a "he". :)

I agree with Maureen...I always thought you were having a boy too! Your belly is too cute! The suspense would kill me too!
