Doing the potty dance over here! Saturday morning started as a typical day in our home. Marlie was bottom naked, eating oatmeal, and watching Sponge Bob on TV. The parents were going about doing morning chores. After breakfast, we both point Marlie toward the potty. It takes a little prodding, but she pops a squat. We expect the usual pee, but boy were we in for a surprise when she made a big girl poop! You should have seen us jumping around and cheering. We were so proud, but stopped short of having the turd bronzed and mounted (anyone remember the name of the South Park episode where Stan's dad does this very thing?!)

Marlie climbed out of her crib twice this week. I guess in was inevitable, but since she hadn't done it sooner I thought she would always stay put. It is time to buy a big girl bed anyway.

Marlie has taken to performing magic tricks...sort of. She takes a stuffed animal and shoves it into a box or pail and declares, "ta da!" I call it the rabbit trick in reverse.

Yay for poop in the potty!!

And Boo for climbing out of bed. Scary stuff! Bring on the big girl bed just in time for little chocolate chip to take over the crib!

Holy cow great job on the potty!!!

My daughter never climbed out of her crib, we finally just decided to take the side off when she started being able to climb INTO it LOL.

How exciting to be such a big girl!

Yowzers! Awesome on the potty training. Miss V is fighting the whole thing and I'm beginning to envision her leaving for college, still in diapers. :-( She also has become a little magician recently. She says "Mommy disappear" and then puts a sheer scarf over my head, at which point, I am supposedly invisible. She also will do it to herself and gets furious if anyone acts like they can see here.

We have had lots of pee on the potty, but the only poop we ever got was when she was sick enough to have the bloody runs (and thank goodness she went to the potty bc it meant I could get a sample). We're still crossing our fingers and waiting, but nowadays she either holds it, necessitating a diaper or else constipation, or just lets loose in her undies. Bleah.

I get it! WE were never as happy as when Deaglan pooped in the toilet. For us it took such a long time. There was a lot of celebration and we could tell he was like - what the hell was I waiting for, that was great!

I remember when we had to move Deaglan to the big kid bed, he climbed up and balanced on the side of the crib. I made Shaune take the side down that night.

Marlie is such a smart kid - all these cool milestones. It's nice they're happening before baby comes along, so you have the time to savour!
