Flashback Friday: Go Away Winter

Friday, January 8, 2010

San Juan PRThe cold weather really does a number on me. I'm talking dry skin, winter blues, cravings for comfort food. Usually, I can handle it with minimum whining, but this arctic blast has me wanting to go into hibernation until spring. I L-O-V-E the heat! It can never be too hot for me. Until it gets warmer, I'll be nostalgically looking at beach photos like this one from our 2005 trip to San Juan, PR. I just imagine that I'm there instead of wrapped in a blanket inside my drafty house. Ah, I feel better already!

I can't stand cold weather. I'd rather it be 105 than 55. Yes, I consider 55 cold. I haven't left the house in days except to buy my new fuzzy slippers. I think I need some vitamin D supplements this winter.

I hate the cold too, I am always freezing. I sleep under no less than 4 blankets at night.

I lived in California for awhile, they had the best weather.

Yeah, I'm so over winter. But, seeing as Winter in Alberta isn't going to end any time soon I guess I'll have to tough it out.

Oh, I LOVE fall and winter! I love to cozy up next to the fire with my man, a warm blanket and a hot cup of coffee! I love to hear the crackle of the fire and to snuggle under the covers. Oh, yeah!

I HATE the heat. You can always get warmer but when it's hot, it's hot! The humidity down here in the south is awful and it is hard to get cool. You can only take off so many clothes, YKWIM??? :0)

Winter can stay! Oh, and we just got a wee bit of snow and I AM LOVING IT! So, send your cold air and any snow my way, OK?

Hope you are having a wonderful week otherwise. Thank you so much for continuing to stop by and leave me such sweet words of encouragement. They mean more to me than you'll ever know.

Love ya, girl!

Beautiful photo!

I do not, however, like lots of heat. Actually, I don't really sweat like I'm supposed to so many times I have come close to passing out from heat stroke. Ugh! Plus, my skin burns if I say the word, "sunshine" shhhhhhh LOL I love the winter! I start to dry out like a prune too, but as a very successful ex-Avon representative, I have to tell you this...Skin-So-Soft oil is the BEST thing for your dry body! I like the "pink" instead of the regular. I put it all over while I'm in the shower. I don't itch, my skin is smooth, no flakes...it is FANTASTIC! I'm actually thinking about being an Avon rep again LOL but until I do, call someone or order it online. IT IS SO GREAT! Talk to you later!

Ugh, I hate the heat! It just about can't get too cold for me (though I'm sure I'd say differently if I lived in Antarctica). I haven't always been like that. I grew up in San Diego and loved the heat. The older I get, however, the less I can tolerate heat. Especially since Vivi was born right before my 40th birthday. I suspect it is related to hot flashes, except it's more like the hot years, no flashes, it's non-stop. Sometimes I feel like I'm going to faint or throw up from heat, even in the fall or spring. Even in the winter here, I have to be careful not to put on too many layers or I just cook. Except my hands and feet....they get cold so easily. It is really ridiculous - I'll be out in a t-shirt and gloves.
