Things I'm Loving This Thursday

Thursday, September 8, 2011

It's been a long time since I've made a weekly list of the things I'm loving. This week I am loving...
  • The Big C on Showtime. I am a big fan of Laura Linney's movies, but she is bigger than life the on the small screen in this serial dramedy about Cathy, a woman battling stag 4 skin cancer while trying to keep her dysfunctional family together which includes her man-child husband, her son, her biploar brother and a favorite student who comes to live with them. Cathy is assertive, sassy, and funny and she doesn't take any crap. She kicks butt every day.

  • Celebrity baby boom. It used to be that getting pregnant was the kiss of death for a female entertainer's career. But oh how times have changed! Baby bumps are the hottest look on the red carpet, just ask Beyonce'. There are entire websites and front pages of magazines dedicated to tracking the every move of celebrity moms from pregnancy to preschool.I personally think it's great to see famous women start families. It makes them more real.

What are you loving this Thursday?! Leave it in your comment :-)

So I was watching the MTV awards with my teen sister when Beyonce performed and she said something about wanting to share 'the love that is growing inside of me'. I told my sister 'she's TOTALLY pregnant'. And then at the end when she revealed her stretchy pants and baby bump I seriously wept. Cause I'm all hormonal. And I can't wait to see what a normal woman's body looks like throughout a pregnancy and post-labor. She inspires me!

You are proving to me once again why we are buddies! Lol I LOVE the big C! And I don't know anyone else who watches it. Its SO good!

I'm not a beyonce Stan but I do like her and her music. I was happy for her and her hubby. However, I have been very disappointed with how mean people have been about it. From saying "who cares!?" To saying she's faking. I kinda makes me sick to my stomach how hateful people can be.

I really like Laura Linney too and can't wait till this series gets syndicated on cable!! Also, I had no idea Beyonce was pregnant! Not sure what I think about her but I'm a pretty big fan of Jayzee's (sp?).

I'm loving being off from work today. Not loving though - I've caught the kids' flu:(

I had no idea that it was bad for celebrities to get pregnant before. I knew that they often hid the pregnancy in the show, but thought it was just because it didn't make sense for the character to get pregnant. I'm glad to hear that times have changed!
