Wordful Wednesday: Her 1st Doll

Wednesday, December 8, 2010

Get ready for me to gush over the custom made doll that Marlie is getting for Christmas! Sue at Polar Bear Creations did such a fabulous job that I had to share. This is the 12 inch cuddle baby that I won in a giveaway at the blog Homegrown Families. I got to choose the fabric for the skin and bodysuit and the hairstyle, which 100% wool. There are no small parts like buttons and the stuffing is non toxic, so this doll is completely safe. I enjoyed designing this doll so much that I'm thinking of getting one for my niece.

That has got to be one of the cutest dolls that I have ever seen! Miss V LOVES dolls of every shape, size, and color. Pretty much, that is all she plays with. There are baby dolls, snap and style dolls, Waldorf style dolls (like yours), dressing dolls, "big kid" dolls, action figure type dolls, doll house dolls w/their doll houses of course, Barbie (I know, perish the thought!), etc. Ironically, I never played with dolls to speak of and my other daughters didn't play with dolls much either. Go figure!

Now she's cute!!!I love the hair! That's the first time i've seen hair to acutually represent our hair texture.

The doll is super cute. And I LOVE the fact that there are no buttons so it makes you feel secure in giving it to her to play with. fun and safety? Yay!
